Morning Voice
An alarm that opens a microphone — you talk, it writes the morning down.
An alarm that rings through Silent mode and Focus, and the moment you tap Talk the recording is already running. Say whatever is there, for ten seconds or ten minutes. By the time you are up it has been written down and read back: a title, a few sentences, a mood, and the things you said you would do.

The problem
Everyone who has tried to keep a journal has failed at the same place: the blank page, first thing, with a keyboard. Talking is the one thing that is easy at 7am, and nothing catches it — a voice memo is not a journal, it is a pile of audio nobody ever plays back.
Why now
Two things landed at once: iOS 26 can transcribe speech on the device itself, and a model can read a rambling five minutes and hand back a page with a mood and a list of what you said you would do. The audio can stay on the phone and the writing can still be good.
Why I'm building this
I built the alarm for Inner Light and kept thinking about what else an alarm you cannot ignore could be used for. This is the answer: it takes the one minute you are honest and turns it into a record you will actually read. The recording staying on your phone is not a feature — it is the condition for saying anything true into it.

How it works
Set a time
One for weekdays, one for weekends. Pick the language you will speak in.
It rings. You talk.
Tap Talk and start. Nobody is listening but you, and the recording stays on the phone.
Read it later
Your morning is waiting, written. At the end of the week, so is the story of it.
What it does
An alarm you cannot wave away
A real system alarm, through Silent mode and Focus. Both buttons open the microphone — and stopping it without speaking only buys ninety seconds before it comes back. One emergency a day postpones it thirty minutes.
Talk. It is already recording.
No page, no keyboard, no prompt to fill in. The microphone is live the moment the screen appears, with a waveform and a question if you want one. Ten seconds is a morning. So is ten minutes.
Written down while you get up
Your morning comes back as a title, a few sentences, a mood and an energy reading, the themes and the people you mentioned, one sentence quoted exactly as you said it — and what you said you would do.
Each week a story, each month a reading
The week is written up as a story with its highlights and one thing to carry forward. The month tells you what kept coming up, what changed, and what an honest reading of it would be.
The audio never leaves the phone
Recordings are file-protected on your device and can delete themselves the moment they are transcribed. English, German, French, Spanish and Italian are transcribed on the phone itself; Turkish goes to Apple’s own dictation service, and the app tells you which one you got.
Mornings, with a few people
Optional and off by default: friends see one emoji and one short line a day — never an excerpt — and can send back one of six emoji. A morning with no line to show can never be shared at all.

Either button opens the microphone
iOS puts its own Stop on an alarm and it cannot be removed, so Stop now opens the recording too — and re-arms the chain behind it, because the system does not always run the intent when an alarm is swiped away. Onboarding came down from four screens to two.

Sign in with Apple, a handle people can find you by, and a single short line a day — written so it never carries a name, a place or an event. Friends answer with one of six emoji. Off by default, and taking it down unshares it.

In build
The alarm, the recording, on-device transcription and the daily page are wired end to end, with the weekly story and monthly reading behind them. Not submitted — the alarm and Turkish speech still have to be proven on a real device, which no simulator can do.
Audience & signal
People who have tried journalling and stopped, and people who already talk to their phone. It needs no habit beyond waking up, because the alarm is the habit.
